Class A drugs charge
Our client was charged with supplying class A drugs within a network from London. The case involved complicated telephone evidence and required forensic analysis and complex legal arguments at the trial.
Our client, a young man with prospects, decided to change his plea to guilty and faced four and a half years in custody.
We put forward a strong case of mitigation highlighting the fact that our client had been exploited and coerced into drug dealing, like so many young people, by dangerous gang leaders.
The judge agreed with our argument that our client had prospects, that he was exploited, and that he could be rehabilitated. The judge gave him a chance with a suspended prison sentence on the basis that he completes a community order.
Our client was extremely pleased and thankful that he was given a second chance:
“Oliver Mackrell was a beacon of hope to myself at a time when my options appeared horribly limited and the likelihood of a satisfactory resolution seemed nigh on impossible. Not only was he and his team able to defend me from an unjust accusation, his calm and empathetic demeanour offered emotional support to myself and those I care about most. My family and I are eternally grateful for his professionalism, advice and service and I hereby recommend My Mackrell without reservation.”
